Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re new to chiropractic or to our practice, you might be wondering what you can expect. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we’re asked.

What is Chiropractic?

Your body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism. Every cell, tissue, organ and system in your body is coordinated by the brain and body. This communication happens through your nerve system. Your nervous system is protected by your spine. Tension and stress in your nerve system, then, can happen through the spine.

A chiropractor seeks to correct areas of stress in the spine that will allow your nerve system to work optimally. In turn, you can heal and have your health restored.

What health problems can chiropractic help?

If your nervous system isn’t working well, you might experience headaches, poor posture, limited motion, aches and pains, fatigue, poor sleep, poor digestion, mood swings and more.

By addressing stressed areas of the spine, your nerve system can function better. Your overall health may then improve.

What causes interference in the brain and body’s communication?

There are three different types of stress that can affect you:

Physical – Learning to walk, car accidents, repetitive motion, poor posture.

Emotional – Family conflict, anxiety, stress, grief.

Chemical – Medications, caffeine, alcohol and drugs, food additives, pollution and dehydration.

When these stresses are present and the body is unable to adapt to them, the brain and body can’t communicate as they should.

What does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor evaluates your spine and nerve system for any dysfunction. Once located, we can use specific adjustments to restore the spine. Chiropractic is the sole profession that addresses the function of the nerve system.

Who should see a chiropractor?

Chiropractic is for everyone. There is no restrictions on who it is appropriate for.

How frequently will I be seen?

There are several factors that determine how often you’ll have appointments. These include how long you’ve had your problem, your health history and any trauma you’ve had. After an assessment, we’ll be able to tell you how frequently you should come in.

Does the treatment hurt?

Absolutely not, chiropractic is very gentle and effective in helping you feel, move and function better. We understand some people prefer more gentle adjustments and might not be used to a neck adjustment therefore Dr Alan Le is an “all-rounder” when it comes to technique. That means he has studied a multitude of adjusting methods all over the world to provide you with our recommended and most comfortable treatment.
